Biographical history
Né en 1913, Joseph Jourdain est arrivé le 11 août 1945 à Chibougamau. Sa femme Claire est venue le rejoindre le 27 de la même année. Ils ont eu 2 enfants : Raoul et Nicole Jourdain. Transféré à Sept-îles, Joseph Jourdain a été cuisinier pour les opérateurs à la station de radio-météorologues du Lac-aux-Doré. Par la suite, il a travaillé à la mine Obalski de 1947 à 1951, en effectuant diverses tâches et il a assisté les géologues et les arpenteurs pour jalonner les concessions minières. Il a aussi été propriétaire de petits chalets situés au Gabriel Lodge près de Chibougamau. Joseph Jourdain est décédé le 14 juin 2003.
