Biographical history
Gérald Hétu est né à St-Sulpice en 1931. Il obtint un Baccalauréat ès arts et une Maîtrise en éducation de l'Université de Montréal. Il entre chez les clercs de Saint-Viateur le 2 juillet 1948. En 1955, il arrive à Chibougamau pour y enseigner en 6ième et 7ième année. L'année suivante, il est transféré à Amos (juin 1956). Puis, il revint à Chibougamau en 1958 pour une période de cinq ans. Il enseigne alors aux étudiants de 10ième et 11ième année. En juin 1962, il retourne enseigner en Abitibi. En 1970, il quitte la communauté des clercs de Saint-Viateur.
